Position Details
The Temporary Assistant Digital Design Studio Technologist works under the supervision of the Digital Design Studio Technologist to support the technical infrastructure of the Digital Design Studio (DDS) for curricular digital projects, and facilitates work created by students for classes and faculty in their teaching in the arts.
DIGITAL PROJECT SUPPORT:
Support faculty and student use of digital applications including but not limited to: photographic editing, compositing, and output; 3-D modeling and 3-D printing; performance documentation and editing; and digital design computer programs
Provides technology, presentation and exhibition assistance, particularly for Senior Thesis students (i.e., mounted output, multimedia logistics)
STUDIO AND CLASSROOM SUPPORT:
Performs maintenance of DDS based equipment, including cameras, microphones, projectors, computers, inkjet printers, 3-d printers, computer milling, laser cutters, and scanners
Trains and assists student monitors to maintain 7/day-a-week operation of the DDS
Ensures all DDS users are trained and follow relevant safety protocols
This is a temporary, non-benefits eligible, position working up to 37.5hrs per week. 
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 1 year related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience
Experience in digital fabrication
Fluency in Adobe Suite including Adobe Premier (or equivalent), and at least one 3-D modeling program
Demonstrated ability to foster an inclusive learning environment
Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with a diverse community of faculty, staff, and students
Demonstrated commitment to work within a diverse environment and interact openly with individuals of different backgrounds
Preferred Qualifications
BA or advanced degree in an arts related field
Experience in maintaining a digital facility
Experience with Rapid prototyping tools such as Laser Cutter and 3D Printers Proficiency in Rhino3D (or equivalent)
