Position Summary
The Temple Grandin Equine Center is seeking individuals to work at CSU Spur campus, in Denver, CO at the National Western Center. This part-time temporary position provides care and maintenance of horses and facilities utilized by the CSU Dept. of Animal Sciences/Equine Sciences program at the Temple Grandin Equine Center at the National Western Complex located in Denver, Colorado.
Position Minimum Qualifications
  • A High School Diploma, General Education Development (GED), or equivalent required.
  • Experience caring for horses including feeding, providing housing, monitoring general health and providing basic veterinarian care, blanketing horses, leading, walking, and transporting horses, and evaluating horses for lameness, vices, or other unwanted conditions.
  • Ability to lift up to 80 pounds approximately four times per day.
  • Ability to work in inclement weather, including dust, moist, hot and cold conditions.
  • Ability to secure a valid driver’s license or access to qualified driver by start date.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelors degree in equine sciences, animal sciences, or related field
  • Veterinarian Technician associates degree or vocational degree
  • Previous work experience at an equestrian boarding or training facility, equine veterinarian hospital, or equine assisted therapy center
