POSITION SUMMARY: 
The Telephone Interviewer/ Research Assistant I is responsible for securing the cooperation of contacted individuals to participate in various telephone surveys, administer telephone surveys professionally and in a manner that adheres with scientific standards, and records survey responses into sophisticated survey software.  Surveys are administered over the telephone with sampled individuals; this requires good oral communication skills in order to convey the importance of the research.

  • Conducting outgoing calls
  • Maintain a good working relationship with the public
  • Follow supervisory staff instructions
  • Promotes an inclusive environment of teamwork and leads to ensure Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) is practiced/applied in department operations, programs, and services

Qualifications

  • Accurate typing
  • Excellent oral and written English communication skills.
  • Personal computer and/or laptop
  • Download survey software 
  • Download telecommunications software
  • Download teleconferencing software 
  • Ability to function well in a stressful, deadline-driven environment.
  • Ability to promote and prioritize Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI)
  • Must be able to work remotely in California ONLY
 EDUCATION:
  • Minimum education: High school completion. 
  • Preferred education: Some college or enrollment in college.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Lifting of up to 25lbs; periodic bending; long-term periods of sitting; long term periods operating a computer
