Min Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent. Successful completion of EMT – Paramedic program or graduation from related allied health sciences program or one (1) year related experience. Passing score of 80% or higher of UTMB’s arrhythmia test. 
To provide specialized advanced technical skills in all technical aspects of the telemetry monitoring system.

Salary Range

The pay range for this position is $13.35/hr - $16.69/hr, commensurate with experience.

The pay band for this position is PC12

Specific Job Related Duties

• Operates and troubleshoots all functions of the telemetry monitoring system:

• Provides precise continual surveillance and analysis of cardiac rhythms on electrocardiographic Central Station:

o Interprets EKG rhythms.
o Recognizes significant EKG events.
o Communicates information to the responsible individual within an appropriate time frame.
o Immediately reports significant or life threatening changes to a RN.

Participates in orienting and teaching of nursing staff, physicians and students as related to monitoring equipment.;assists with maintenance of unit equipment.
• Provides age appropriate interaction and care as indicated.
• Uses aseptic techniques and infection control measures in performance of duties.

Preferred License/Certificate

Completion of an EKG interpretation class.

NOTE - Must be able to pass a rhythm strip telemetry interpretation test.
