Position Summary
This position provides instructional and IT support to faculty, staff, and students for a variety of applications and services in the Executive MBA Programs. The tech support technician will have a deep understanding of the Canvas learning management system, program calendar and class launches, and how the instructional components of the class impact students and faculty. Areas of additional support as needed include Microsoft Windows operating systems, Apple operating Systems, Microsoft Office Professional Suites, E-mail clients (MS Outlook in an Exchange environment), Internet browser support, and variety of additional hardware and software support. Emphasis is placed on the support and prompt responsiveness to learning management system questions, user experiences across multiple systems, proactive support with faculty and third-party software, and the student experience. The Tech Support Technician also supports the Slate application system. The Tech Support Technician works closely with the instructional design team to align projects, student/faculty communication, and proactive solutions to challenges that emerge. The integration and close collaboration between the Tech Support Technician, the instructional designers, and the instructional specialist enables seamless communication and responsiveness to students and faculty. The Tech Support Technician is expected to understand University policies and communicate them to Executive MBA Staff. The position will work closely with Kenan-Flagler’s User Services group and will be expected to work collaboratively and be in frequent communication with User Services. The position reports to the Assistant Director of Faculty Consulting Group. 
This position is located in Charlotte, NC.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
Graduation from high school and one year in the field of technology related to the position’s role. 
- Computer coursework may be substituted year-for- year for the required experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. 
- Journey level requires an additional six months experience 
- Advanced level requires an additional one year of experience.
Required Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience
* Experience & Technical Knowledge of Microsoft Windows operating systems, scripting and Microsoft  office Suite
* Experience & Technical Knowledge of Apple Mac OS operating system and Office for Mac
* Experience & Technical Knowledge of dual boot configurations for Apple computers
* Strong knowledge of HTML, CSS and SQL
* Consistently demonstrates excellent customer service skills
* Completes and plans operational tasks properly, on time and on-schedule.
* Ability to communicate details clearly and completely in verbal and written format
* Proven ability to multi-tasking with attention to detail
* Ability to work in high stress and high-volume situation
* Experience with Remedy or similar ticket tracking application
* Managing users with Windows Active Directory
* Willing to work up to 2-3 evenings per week until 10pm and some weekends. Some travel (including weekends) required. Schedule will be flexed when evening and weekend work is required.
