This is a full-time benefits-eligible position. Position Purpose
Reporting to and taking direction from the Technology Support Center Manager, the Technology Support Specialist I will be a member of a courteous, effective, and efficient Technology Support Center team that interacts with campus constituents to provide first line of user support of technology resources. User support and assistance of using technology resources will be conducted via the telephone, email, and face-to-face interaction. The Technology Support Specialist I will be expected to differentiate between the types of work being conducted and know when to escalate support challenges to other Office of Technology team members using defined processes and procedures.
Primary functions of the Technology Support Specialist I position include, but are not limited to: Provide first line of support services to campus constituents on use of technology resources; Assist other Technology Support Center team members with defining and documenting work/low processes and knowledge base articles; Ongoing learning and understanding of technology resources leveraged across the campus environment; and, other duties as assigned by the Technology Support Center Manager and/or chain of command.

Technology, Business, or Communications related degree preferred.
Education may be substituted for experience or experience may be substituted for education. Note that equivalencies are based on the following: AA = 2 years experience; BA/BS = 4 years experience; MA/MS = 6 years experience; PhD = 8 years experience.
Computer Skills Word-Processing, Other - Ability to learn, understand, and manipulate applications that will be used on a daily basis, including call tracking systems and report writing.
Experience
1. Two years’ experience providing customer service required.
2. One year experience supporting workstations in a in an enterprise environment required.
3. Classes, experience, or certifications in technology releated fields preferred.
