Primary Purpose of Organizational Unit
ITS Educational Technologies (EdTech) provides instructional technology applications and integration to support the University’s academic mission. The division includes: Classroom Support & Learning Space Design, Educational Technologies Systems & Services, and Liaison to the Center for Faculty Excellence.
Position Summary
ITS Educational Technologies provides services to advance the University’s academic mission by providing technical support for general purpose classrooms, supporting the University’s central learning management system, providing students with Carolina Print Hub services, Virtual Lab services, and supporting other selected technologies available to the campus community. The technology support analyst provides support for the unit, with support focused primarily on Carolina Print Hub services and Classroom PC management.
Carolina Print Hub Duties to include:
* Installing, maintaining, and life cycling Carolina Print Hub hardware stationed at 70+ on-campus locations.
* Automating daily configurations for printers using fleet management software.
* Building installer packages for printing software and drivers.
* Providing technical support for Carolina Print Hub Services using ServiceNow IT management software, working with customers to resolve issues.
* Working with campus stakeholders to improve user experience for Carolina Print Hub services.
Classroom PC Management duties to include:
* Installing, maintaining and life cycling of 200+ PC’s found in General Purpose Classrooms across campus.
* Group Policy and Active Directory management
* Windows imaging
* Software updates and base image build
* Specific course software installation
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
Associate’s degree in Computer Information Technology, computer Technology Integration, Networking Technology, or related area and one year of experience in the information technology field related to the position’s role; or
- Bachelor’s degree from an appropriately accredited institution and one year experience in the information technology field related to the position’s role; or
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, math or engineering or related technical degree from an appropriately accredited institution; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Journey level required an additional one year of experience
- Advanced level required an additional two years of experience.
Required Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience
* Demonstrated ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams
* Good analytical and problem-solving skills
* Ability to assess each customer’s technical knowledge level
* Demonstrated knowledge of writing Group Policies and Windows imaging
* Ability to manage PC’s using MS Active Directory
Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience
* Experience working in a technology support unit at an educational institution
* Demonstrated technical solution skills and system testing.
* Ghost Solution Suite
* Windows scripting experience (batch and PowerShell)
* MS SCCM experience
Required Licenses/Certifications
Special Physical/Mental Requirements
* Ability to move heavy objects
* Strong analytical skills required to perform root cause analysis and resolution
