 A wide technical background covering enterprise technologies.

Position Description

Provide computer services training to IT staff and UofL faculty, staff and students.  Give one-on-one support in IT Support Services area. Work with IT Communication and Marketing staff to create technological documentation and videos as needed.  Work with the Universities Technology Support Staff to ensure properly licensed software is installed on IT computers in the ITech Connect office.  Have knowledge of Information Technology strategic goals for faculty, staff and student training. Encourage innovation and delivery of customer support of IT services to University departments, faculty and staff.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Collaborate with all IT units and assist customers with technology support problem.  Assist the customers with needs and/or refer to deep pocked support areas.
  • Research and provide documentation along with solutions to assist users with computer and enterprise application problems.  Analyze current IT procedures and information to suggest process change to support information technology and university-wide technology environment changes. 
  • Specialize in providing training, coaching and consulting one-on-one to Faculty, Staff and Students to give them individualized assistance with specific technological problems.  Encourage innovation and delivery of IT Support Service to University departments.  Provide high level of service and maintain high customer satisfaction.  Encourage innovation and delivery of Support Services to University departments.
  • Special Projects and Strategic Goals.  Complete special projects, support University and IT strategic goals, and develop plans that support University future development. 
  • Continuously train to keep up with enterprise software and technological advances.  Develop IT areas of improvement through issues, establish gaps in services, and provide solutions for addressing university-wide technology environment changes.
  • Team with other IT departments to develop knowledge base.
  • In this position it is essential that one be able to work well with individuals of varying degrees of computer technical knowledge, educational background, organizational level and varying cultural backgrounds. It is also essential that one be able to work with individuals and teams in our IT departmental units.
