UW Information Technology (UW-IT) is the central information technology organization for the University of Washington, responsible for strategic planning, oversight, and direction of the UW’s IT infrastructure, resources, and services. UW-IT provides critical technology support to all three campuses, UW medical centers, and research operations around the world. UW-IT partners with the UW community to enable innovation, learning, discovery, and service.

The Enterprise Reporting and Analytics (ERA) team within UW-IT, Information Management (IM) enables the University of Washington data user community to access and use institutional information in support of data-driven decision-making.  The Business Intelligence within ERA is tasked with defining practices and processes, as well as developing reports, analytical cubes, visualizations for the University.

The Technology Manager manages and provides leadership to the Business Intelligence team within ERA, and defines the business intelligence strategy, methods, and tools for delivering institutional information. This work directly supports UW’s administrative units across three campuses, as well as academic advisers.  The position is responsible for managing and providing guidance and leadership to a community of business intelligence engineers; defining and executing strategy; producing and maintaining BI deliverables; identifying, promoting, delivering institutional performance measurements and targets. This position offers the unique opportunity to be part of a professional, experienced team creating central resources for the University as we expand our content and services.

The Technology Manager is a data warehouse professional and leader experienced in data warehouse reporting and analyses, and the tools supporting these activities, including Microsoft BI Stack (SSAS, SSRS, PowerBI), Tableau. The position requires depth of knowledge in enterprise data management methods, expertise in dimensional/star schema design, and the data warehouse software development lifecycle. The incumbent must understand organizational business objectives and then conceptualize, document, implement and communicate the design of solutions for advanced analytical and operational activities.
