UW Finance Transformation has an outstanding opportunity for a Technology Manager and Software Architect. This position plays a lead role in architecting, developing, remediating, and retiring dozens of financial applications as part of the UW Finance Transformation Program (UWFT), a multi-year effort to replace the University’s financial systems. The Technology Manager and Software Architect is responsible for architecting solutions and managing/mentoring Software Engineers. The role includes technical leadership and collaboration with stakeholders from across the University.

The technical scope requires an ability to quickly learn UW policies, functional processes, and procedures. Software complexity ranges from application, web service, and database coding, to systems integrations and security architecture.

This position produces financial solutions using C# .Net, Javascript, MS T-SQL, and other technologies.

The Technology Manager and Software Architect position requires a combination of skills – deep technical knowledge and the ability to lead/mentor Software Engineers through a very complex, high-profile set of projects. The position must excel at all phases of the software development life cycle and be able to work across a large variety of systems. In addition, the position requires the ability to communicate effectively with a wide variety of stakeholders - senior leaders, project managers, business analysts, subject matter experts, and developers.

The position will play a key role in the success of the Finance Readiness Program, a central pillar of the Finance Transformation Program. The Finance Transformation Program will be one of the highest profile efforts at the University, and will involve the implementation of one of the largest financial systems in Washington State.  The outcome of the project will be highly visible at all levels of the University and State.
