Position Summary:

Florida Atlantic University is seeking a Technical & Simulation Support Specialist - Boca Raton, FL.

Summary of Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for proper setup, knowledge, operation, and technical support of simulation systems, computers, and manikin.

  • Monitors internal help desk ticketing system.

  • Provides CON (College of Nursing) IT support (Hardware & Software), primarily on the Boca, Jupiter, and Davie campus and other CON satellite sites or locations.

  • Maintains and updates an inventory of the FAU College of Nursing computing devices and equipment, primarily on the Boca, Jupiter, and Davie campus and other CON satellite sites or locations.

  • Conducts research and provides recommendations for upgrading existing hardware infrastructure and devices regarding the Simulation Labs.

  • Provides technical support to individuals requesting assistance with FAU College of Nursing computers/equipment and personal computing devices, primarily on the Boca, Jupiter, and Davie campus and other CON satellite sites or locations.

  • Collaborate with IT services and simulation system vendors to identify, and isolate simulation, system, and network-related issues.

  • Provide technical support to CON Faculty/Staff regarding Simulator’s function and connectivity.

  • Coordinate with Vendor’s support to address technical issues with Simulators.

  • Document technical processes and support needed for simulations.

  • Coordinate with Vendors for the purchasing, delivery, training, and installation of Simulators.

  • Maintain and improve department knowledgebase of simulation software, equipment, supplies, media, computers, and materials related to simulation learning.

  • Interface with the equipment manufacturers (manikin and data capture) regarding equipment troubleshooting and system problems.

  • Support hardware and software modifications to accommodate computer users' needs, functions, and business processes.

  • Maintaining the Simulation lab's computer-related equipment, including AV equipment.

  • Perform support tasks for classroom and lab equipment regarding Simulation.

Minimum Qualifications:

Master's degree from an accredited institution in an appropriate area of specialization and one year of appropriate experience; or a bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in an appropriate area of specialization and three years of appropriate experience required.
Preferred Qualifications/Skills:
Knowledge of Laerdal Simulators, CAE Simulators, and other AV simulation systems.

Salary:

$65,000 - $95,000 per year.
Exempt Administrative, Managerial, Professional (AMP)
