Job Description

This part time Technical Lab Coordinator is needed to research new technologies and collaborate with faculty members in the areas of Robotic Systems, Lidar & 3D Sensing, Embedded Microcontrollers, Embedded Microcomputers, 3D printing and scanning, instruments and actuators, write instructional material to be included in MXET classroom and lab content for Mobile Robotics, Industrial robotics, loT, C++, Python, and PLC programming, and wiring and integration of sensors and actuators, and serve as mentor and technical advisor to student design teams and capstone teams in ESET and MXET programs.

Responsibilities:

  • Research new technologies and collaborate with faculty members in the areas of Robotic Systems, Lidar & 3D Sensing, Embedded Microcontrollers, Embedded Microcomputers, 3D printing and scanning, instruments and actuators
  • Collect feedback from ESET and MXET professors on lab conditions & offer updated lab protocols and equipment to suit course needs.
  • Merge program objectives, ABET requirements, External Advisory committee feedback, student feedback into recommendations for technology & instructional changes.
  • Write instructional material to be included in MXET classroom and lab content for Mobile Robotics, Industrial robotics, loT, C++, Python, and PLC programming, and wiring and integration of sensors and actuators.
  • Script, record, edit and publish educational videos to support MXET education content
  • Write and test Python and C++ software to serve as templates for lab lessons/activities
  • Mentor and technical advisor to student design teams and capstone teams in the ESET and MXET programs
  • Consult with MSET program students pursuing mobile robotics applications and research
  • Assist ETID with troubleshooting and repair of robotics equipment, PLCS, Embedded Controllers and instruments

Required Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree or any equivalent combination of training and experience.

Required Experience:

  • Three years of related experience in laboratory operations.

Preferred Education:

  • Masters in Engineering

Preferred Experience:

  • Experience with ETID
  • Experience with Renishaw AM400
