Job Title: Technical Director - Developer and Integration Specialist

Reporting Relationship: Director of Enterprise Applications and Software Development

Summary of Position:    This position is part of a team with diverse skill sets, responsible for improving, researching, analyzing, troubleshooting, and consulting on UIT-supported software applications and systems, as well as integrating and developing new and existing software, databases, and reporting solutions in web and/or desktop contexts. The dedicated focus for this role is the integration development and support of the University’s Salesforce CRM, in conjunction with the National & Global division’s Salesforce team. Previous experience with software integrations, Salesforce CRM. Ellucian Colleague ERP and Jitterbit data integration platform highly preferred.


Duties and Responsibilities

  • Collaborates with the IWU Salesforce business lead, Business Analysts, Administrators and other team members to analyze, design, develop, test, debug, install, implement and support the Salesforce platform and associated integrations and/or applications
  • Collaborates with cross-functional resources to ensure the platform and apps meet the organization’s standards 
  • Provides technical expertise on high-level solutions 
  • Develops in conjunction with the Enterprise Architect integration designs, and implements integrations between Salesforce and other applications 
  • Provides guidance on customizations and database designs 
  • Develops and troubleshoots code-based and advanced declarative Salesforce platform customizations 
  • Provides consultation for issues and questions from end users not resolved by the Salesforce Admin or Business Analyst
  • Develops, monitors, and maintains integrations

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred (or a combination of education and experience)

Experience

  • Three (3) to six (6) years’ experience working as a technology professional, either an internal employee, consultant, or similar role. Required
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse communities and cultures.
  • General experience working in fast-paced IT environments on large-scale CRM & business system Projects
  • Prior experience working in Higher Education preferred but not required
  • Knowledge of Ellucian Colleague (ERP software) preferred but not required
  • Knowledge of Salesforce (SaaS CRM solution), especially EDA(Education Data Architecture) module, preferred but not required
  • Knowledge of Jitterbit (data integration platform) preferred but not required

Required Skills

  • Two (2) years of experience with software development and one year of experience in general database programming.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and solve complex technical issues related to the CRM environments required
  • Ability to communicate complex technical concepts in terms that are easily understandable to end users, business leadership and other non-technical staff.
  • General knowledge and understanding of basic Information Technology concepts including but not limited to: Active Directory,
  • TCP/IP Networking, Virtualization, Security, Programming and reporting, etc.
  • Excellent communication skills required
  • Excellent interpersonal/team player skills (i.e. flexible, collegial, kind, etc.) required
  • Proficiency with MS-Office products required
