Posting Summary
Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking a Technical Assistant for the Ernest Mario School of Pharmacy. This position is funded by an NSF supplement to provide research assistance to Dr. Lanjing Zhang to perform computational tasks on high-dimensional biological data.
Among the key duties of the position are the following:
  • Conducts data transformation and cleansing using python.
  • Proficiently programs python-based machine learning algorithms to analyze high-dimensional biological data.
  • Carries out inferential statistical analyses using python.
  • Keeps a good record of programming codes and results.
  • Drafts and revises manuscript.
Position Status Full Time
Hours Per Week 40 hours per week for 12 weeks

This position requires a fully on-site work arrangement.
FLSA Nonexempt
Position Salary 15.13/hr.

Qualifications


Minimum Education and Experience
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.

Certifications/Licenses
Preferred Qualifications
  • Undergraduate student with a science and biology background and fluency in python programming and computational biology
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • We will train the student in required techniques, analytical skills and scientific thinking.

Immunization Requirements


Under Policy 60.1.35 Immunization Policy for Rutgers Employees and Prospective Employees , Rutgers University requires all prospective employees to provide proof that they are vaccinated against COVID-19 prior to commencement of employment, unless the University has granted the individual a medical or religious exemption. Rutgers University may require certain prospective employees to receive an updated (bivalent) vaccine dose.
