Working with IT Architects in the Tech Services Engineering team, the Intern for TS Engineering will work on an assortment of tasks around the Source of Truth and Network Names and Numbers projects. These tasks include data scrubbing in Source of Truth and in SolidSERVER, validating and documenting Nautobot group permissions, testing existing Nautobot plugins under consideration for use, writing documentation for netops workflows in and around Source of Truth, updating existing plugins to support migration from Nautobot 1.6 LTS to 2.x, and working with network operations staff to develop Jinja2 templates for network devices

Job Description

Responsibilities:

  • Data scrubbing for Source of Truth project (cleaning data imported from other sources, reconciling mismatches between different sources).

  • Data scrubbing for DDI/Network Names and Numbers

  • Testing, validating, and documenting Source of Truth user and group settings.

  • Working with users to find documentation gaps, generating documentation from existing training videos and self-study.

  • Updating plugins to work with future versions of Nautobot (Source of Truth platform)

  • Working with users to develop configuration templates for new device types.

  • Perform additional duties as assigned


Qualifications:


  • College level writing skills

  • Able to quickly grasp instructions for unfamiliar tasks that involve network data management systems.

  • Sufficient experience with Python or a comparable programming language to take on responsibility for small (1-4 week)

  • Well-defined code maintenance and automation projects

  • Ability to engage actively and professionally in one-on-one and group settings; and carry out assignments with light, regular supervision.
