Job Title:  Teaching Lab Specialist

Job Code- 0018 (Other Hourly Prof Support/Svc)

Hiring Salary/Salary Range: $17.24 to $20.00 per hour (up to 20 hours per week)

This position will assist the Teaching Lab Manager and Course Directors for Anatomy in the medical curriculum courses. This involves maintenance of human cadaveric material and its’ acquisition form the State Anatomical Board under the supervision of the Lab Manager.

Responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Preparation and maintenance of material for teaching and research
  • Maintain cadaveric material to assure quality of dissection
  • Maintain tracking and other information pertaining to cadaveric material
  • Cleaning and storage of all dissection equipment, dissection tanks and related equipment
  • Maintain other teaching materials such as skeletons, bone boxes, plastic embedded materials and anatomical models.
  • Working with and assisting faculty in teaching related activities. This includes medical, graduate and physical therapy students. Working with faculty to set up and clean up before and after each teaching activities including electives and special events.
  • Maintain inventory of all teaching material and chemicals and supplies used to maintain the lab and teaching materials. Order supplies as needed.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • This position requires high school and two years of work experience in instructional or laboratory work.
  • College coursework may be substituted for the required experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree and one year of anatomy lab experience.
  • One year experience with medical school curriculum and cadavers.
