Job Summary:

The Department of Rehabilitation Psychology and Special Education is looking for a motivated and detail-oriented team member to serve as Instructor and Placement coordinator for the Rehabilitation Counseling graduate programs. This position will serve as the instructor of record for the following courses; RPSE 860-Clinical Practice Seminar, RPSE 880-Supervised Practicum I, RPSE 890-Supervised Practicum II and RPSE 910 Internship for each semester, with the possibility of teaching other courses depending on departmental need and the interest of the candidate. This position will coordinate rehabilitation counseling practica and internships for graduate students in accordance with CACREP requirements. They will maintain existing relationships and establish new relationships with community partners in the Madison and Dane County Area that will generate placement opportunities.


Responsibilities:
Provides classroom, online and/or laboratory instruction associated with more than one lecture or laboratory course, assists with the design and execution of administrative functions associated with academic instruction and the development of pedagogy/andragogy or assessment tools and resources to support quality student learning. Provides for-credit instruction in formats such as classroom, online and/or laboratory settings, including grading. Serves as an instructor of record.
  • 20% Assists in developing techniques and/or model programs for carrying out instructional goals in disciplinary area and may help identify ways in which new techniques could be of assistance
  • 20% Assesses learner performance and prepares reports recommending instructional improvements
  • 15% Develops teaching techniques that enhance course effectiveness in alignment with desired outcomes and established strategy
  • 15% Provides classroom, online and/or laboratory instruction, including grading
  • 10% Assists in defining the objectives of the program and plays a major role in carrying out program duties
  • 10% Oversees the collection of supporting documents by instructors
  • 10% Oversees the provision of professional development activities for community partners.

Qualifications:

Candidates need to meet ONE of the following qualifications:
1. have an earned doctoral degree in counselor education, preferably from a CACREP accredited program
2. have a related doctoral degree and have been employed as a full-time faculty member in a counselor education program for a minimum of one full academic year before July 1, 2013
3. have been employed as a full-time doctoral-level faculty member in a CORE-accredited master's program prior to July 1, 2017
4. have graduated from a rehabilitation doctoral program prior to January 1, 2018.


Work Type:

Full Time: 100%
It is anticipated this position requires work be performed in-person, onsite, at a designated campus work location.


Appointment Type, Duration:

Terminal, 9 month appointment.
This position has the possibility to be extended or converted to an ongoing appointment based on need and/or funding


Salary:

Minimum $65,000 ACADEMIC (9 months)
Depending on Qualifications


Additional Information:

This position is an academic year or 9-month basis appointment with the possibility of additional pay in the summer. Additionally this position may be considered for renewal based on program needs and funding.
