Special Assignments | May be required to perform other duties as assigned. May be required to assist the agency or state government generally in the event of an emergency declaration by the Governor. |
KSA's/Required Qualifications | A. Applicable to all teaching faculty positions: 1. Willingness to design and implement curriculum to support and improve student learning. 2. Ability to develop and adapt teaching and learning strategies to accommodate the diversity of community college students to promote acquisition and application of knowledge. 3. Ability to use consistent, timely formative and summative assessment measures to enhance student learning. 4. Experience with, or willingness to learn and utilize, proven teaching strategies that promote student success. 5. Willingness to use or incorporate emerging technologies and alternative delivery methods appropriately, including online delivery, hybrid course options, content software, web-enhancements, etc. 6. Ability to effectively communicate interpersonally (in group and one-on-one settings) orally and in writing. 7. Willingness to stay current and continually improve knowledge and understanding of the discipline. 8. Teaching experience preferred especially at the community college level. B. Applicable to the specific position: 1. Bachelor’s degree in Diesel/Diesel Technology or a related teaching field; or an Associate degree in Diesel/Diesel Technology or a related teaching field. Two years work-related experience. 2. ASE Master Medium/Heavy Truck Technician certification or ability to obtain within one year of employment. ASE or MACS Refrigerant Recovery License. Recent Diesel Training (with the past five years) with a transcript or certification from the program. 3. Ability to obtain a Virginia State Inspector’s license within the first year of employment. |
