The TRIO Programs at the University of North Texas at Dallas were designed to support the academic development of students within our partner schools of Dallas ISD and surrounding school districts.
Position Overview
The Talent Search Advisor is responsible for supporting the Talent Search Program requiring a general working knowledge of TRIO programs specifically Talent Search. The Talent Search Advisor will be responsible for a variety of tasks which may include assisting with data collection, data input, program assessment, student support, community outreach, assisting in developing and conducting programs, reporting, and program marketing.

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in related field; or any equivalent combination of education, training and experience
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Ability to mentor and coach others. 
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite, and virtual conferencing platforms such as MS Teams and Zoom. 
  • Ability to coordinate and attend events and meetings at times beyond traditional office working hours is required. 
  • Excellent communication, verbal, presentation and leadership skills. 
  • Ability to make decisions independently and, at times, with little to no direction.  
  • Strong and creative problem solving and critical thinking skills  
  • Ability to collect, analyze and report various types of data sets. 
  • Ability to work urgently on multiple tasks at once in a fast paced and results oriented environment. 
  • Work collaboratively and effectively with a number of teams and individuals to accomplish the goals of the program. 
  • Commitment to the success of high school students through the college application process.

Preferred Qualifications
Master’s Degree
Experience in working with the Middle and/or High School students at in DFW Area.
Alumni/friend of a TRIO or Talent Search Program
Required License / Registration / Certification
Work Schedule
M-F
9am-5pm
Some Saturdays (will be notified ahead of time)
Summer program (June & July)
Driving University Vehicle No
