OneRED seeks to promote a culture of continuous learning and professional growth through various programs targeting the university’s short- and long-term needs. These programs will have a strategic focus and offer multiple modalities for learning.
Posting Summary
Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Talent Development Manager for Rutgers University Human Resources. This position works cross-functionally with various teams and departments to understand training needs, skill gaps, and areas of improvement. The manager develops programs and initiatives that drive and support the university wide employee development strategy.
Among the key duties of this position are the following:
  • Reports directly into the Director of Organizational and Talent Development.
  • Provides direction and leadership, as needed, to lower-level employees.
  • Responsible for the continual review, improvement, and consultation around talent development – both individually and in collaboration with others on the Organizational and Talent Development team.
  • Participates in cross functional teams with primary accountability for the design, development and implementation of organizational and talent development programs and initiatives.

COVID-19 Immunization Requirement
Under Policy 60.1.35 , Rutgers University requires all prospective employees to provide proof that they are fully vaccinated and have received a booster (where eligible) against COVID-19 prior to commencement of employment, unless the University has granted the individual a medical or religious exemption.  Prospective employees who are not eligible for a booster at the time of an offer of employment must provide proof they have received a booster within two weeks (14 calendar days) of eligibility .  Based on current guidance, individuals are considered fully vaccinated against COVID-19 two weeks after receiving the final dose of any COVID-19 vaccine authorized or approved for use in the United States by the United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and recommended by the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP) of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).  Eligibility for a booster against COVID-19 varies and is explained on the University’s web site located at https://coronavirus.rutgers.edu/covid-19-vaccine .  Failure to provide proof of primary vaccination and booster will result in rescission of a prospective employee’s offer of employment and/or disciplinary action up to and including termination.

Qualifications


Minimum Education and Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in HR Management, Psychology, or related field; or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
  • A minimum of seven (7) years of progressive talent development experience and project management experience.
Certifications/Licenses
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Experience managing talent development programs.
  • Experience using multiple instructional design options and learning methodologies.
  • Experience facilitating workshops for both in-person and virtual formats.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate with individuals at all levels.
  • Excellent interpersonal, management, motivation, and analytical skills.
  • Proven decision-making skills and ability to manage multiple projects and initiatives concurrently, tracking deadlines & milestones and communicating status.
  • Strategic thinker able to execute innovative ideas.
  • Detail oriented with strong organization, presentation, and prioritization skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a strong ability to establish and maintain effective relationships throughout the university.
