Position Focus:

Yale is modernizing the university Talent Acquisition (TA) function to achieve our North Star of making hiring faster and simpler, resulting in more successful recruitment of highly talented and diverse employees for Yale.  As a part of this transformative effort, we are seeking a Talent Acquisition Partner that will establish and maintain relationships with hiring managers to foster strong understanding of their businesses and talent needs. As a key member of the hiring team the TA Partner will develop and execute recruitment strategies for near and long-term needs ensuring a positive experience for candidates and managers alike. 

The TA Partner will manage a portfolio of clients and recruit for all levels of staff roles, including managerial and professional, as well as bargaining unit positions. The TA Partner will build strong partnerships with clients and gain an in-depth understanding of the needs of the organization. The TA Partner will work closely with the talent sourcing function to establish recruitment strategies to drive results and meet established goals and metrics.

Essential Duties

1.Plan and execute recruitment strategy discussions with hiring managers to understand and support near and long-term hiring needs. Set sourcing and selection strategies for assigned openings. Interpret recruiting plan for TA Sourcing Specialists as needs develop and change. Collaborate and communicate with department leaders and HR Partners to align on workforce and recruiting plans. Support DEIB/unrepresented talent goals and New Haven hiring goals. Provide relevant reporting and metrics at key touchpoints.2. Advise on leading TA practices through all stages of the recruitment funnel. Provide consultation on job description and job ad aligning with Yale brand and EVP; share preliminary candidate slates; guide hiring managers on appropriate and inclusive interview techniques, questions, and evaluations; conduct interview debrief sessions on a regular basis; coordinate the collection of offer details and creation of offer terms, overseeing the generation of formal offer letters, extending verbal offer, and handling negotiations.3. Serve as a key point of contact for candidates through the recruiting process ensuring a seamless candidate experience. Assess talent by conducting screening interviews to evaluate candidate expertise and alignment to job qualifications. Communicate offer terms to candidate (e.g., coordination of start date) and handoff for new hire administration.4. Deliver a seamless and efficient hiring experience for hiring managers and candidates through collaboration with TA team members within a pod structure including TA Partners, TA Sourcing Specialists and TA Coordinators. 5. Actively monitor personal TA Partner dashboard to manage workload and productivity and maintain alignment with TA Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and measures of success.6. Ensure compliance with policies, collective bargaining agreements and legal requirements for handling escalations or appeals.


Required Education and Experience

Bachelor’s Degree and four years of professional human resources experience or an equivalent education or experience in a related field.


Required Skill/Ability 1:

Demonstrated strong conceptual knowledge of recruiting practices and skills in all phases of the recruitment process​ including behavioral interviewing and other assessment techniques​. Hands-on experience recruiting for roles representing a range of complexity​.


Required Skill/Ability 2:

The ability to understand and adapt to changing organizational priorities and talent environment​.


Required Skill/Ability 3:

Demonstrated ability to influence customers and candidates through various techniques that are appropriate/effective for the given situation and relationship. Excellent written and oral communication skills​ and the ability to communicate ideas. Excellent listening and interpersonal skills​.


Required Skill/Ability 4:

The ability to read data and metrics and to use that information to tell a story​. A keen attention to detail and strong organizational skills​.


Required Skill/Ability 5:

Demonstrated ability working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment, with the ability to navigate across complex organizations​. Experience delivering proactive customer service​.


Preferred Education, Experience and Skills:

Sales and marketing skills (preferred)​. Proficiency in Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS) and Candidate Relationship Management (CRM) applications (preferred).
