Description of the position

The Engineering Department is hiring a teaching assistant (TA) to assist with ENGR 210: Project and Design II. The TA will work approximately 10 hours per week during the Spring 2024 semester.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Hold weekly office hours. The TA will hold a recommended 1 hour of office hours per week to help students with their projects. These hours may be increased or reduced based on student demand.
  • Grade homework assignments. The TA is expected to grade small homework assignments that will be due at the beginning of roughly each class period. The instructors will provide guidance on the grading. Homework assignments must be graded promptly and returned to the instructor in one week.
  • Meet with the instructors for approximately 30 minutes every week to go over the plans for the upcoming week.

Qualifications:

  • Required: successful completion of ENGR 210: Project and Design II
  • Preferred: previous TA and/or tutoring experience with Engineering students
  • Preferred: availability during class time, MW 2:15-4:00 pm. If possible, the TA may occasionally be asked to attend class to help during student work time.

Compensation: $18.07/hr
