Job Description

Working as a part of the Applications and Enterprise Data Services team, provide analysis, design, development, and implementation for system and data integrations and integration-related services for the team, ITS, and other University departments. Advise and/or develop and maintain application and data integrations with academic and administration systems and data repositories. These applications include both commercially-based packages and applications developed in-house and can be located on-premise or in the cloud. Collaborate with ITS developers and analysts to comprehend the data sources and apply integration best practices to meet identified requirements. Collaborate across the team and ITS to assist with the modernization and continuous improvement of our integration processes and infrastructure. Help define and document best practices with an eye towards security and self-service, and ensure the long-term health and efficiency of this infrastructure and related systems.

Key Job Functions:

Integration Development and Consulting Services

  • Integrate third party and in-house applications and data with on premise and cloud infrastructure and applications.
  • Develop integrations using industry-standard programming languages e.g.  (J2EE, Python, PL/SQL, etc.) and integration tools like DataStage.
  • Experience with iPaaS solutions is a plus.
  • Advise internal ITS customers to ensure data and integration design meets defined requirements and best practices.
  • Perform impact analysis of changes and/or new functionality.

Integration Support

  • Provide support to include troubleshooting in a 24x7 environment for mission-critical services.
  • Develop and/or advise on reconciliation, monitoring, and recovery strategies.
  • Follow SAS112 requirements and audit procedures.

Systems Administration and Support

  • Manage the operational data store(ODS) and other integration environments and services.
  • Plan patches and upgrades for these systems.
  • Create and maintain documentation.
  • Monitor performance and optimize the efficiency of the integrations and services.
  • Set up and manage various system and integration logs.

Systems Security

  • Ensure systems are secure and protected.
  • Understand the security implications of a multi-tiered distributed application environment.

Technical Consulting

  • Work with users to define data and integration solutions to meet requirements and adhere to standards.

This position offers a hybrid work schedule at the discretion of Management. 

Title and salary commensurate with relevant experience based on the following titles and hiring ranges:

  • Senior Level (5+ years of exp.). Salary Range: $100,000 to $126,000
  • Mid Level (3-5 years of exp.) Salary Range: $85,000 to $108,000
  • Associate level (1-3 years exp.)  Salary Range: $71,000 to $89,000

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or technology-related field.  
  • Minimum of four years of experience supporting the integration of externally purchased and internally developed applications and working with Master Data Management (MDM) systems.
