Job Summary

The Purdue University Libraries and School of Information Studies (PULSIS) is seeking a Systems Engineer. The Systems Engineer develops solutions utilizing emerging technologies, coordinates and administers end-user systems, and provides advanced technical support for desktop and laptop systems and software for the faculty, staff, and students of PULSIS.

 

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Science or a related field
  • 2 years of experience with Windows-based systems administration
  • Consideration will be given to an equivalent combination of related education and required work experience (Assocaite's degree and 4 years of related experience or High School diploma/GED and 6 years of related experience)
  • Skilled computer hardware configuration and repair of Windows-based operating systems and software
  • Skilled in the use of Microsoft Active Directory and Systems Center Configuration Manager
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Independent problem solving skills and an ability to troubleshoot and diagnose problems
  • Must be self-motivated and possess the ability to work both independently and collaborate closely with a team  
  • Willingness to learn new tools and techniques to integrate new technology

 

Preferred:

  • Knowledge of apple-based operating systems and software
