Job Description

We are looking for a talented and well-rounded web developer with experience in each of the phases of software development, including requirements, design, coding and implementation, and test and maintenance.

This position provides support to users of information technology tools. Work typically involves a combination of providing expert advice and troubleshooting on one or more software products, administering and maintaining share-use systems, communicating with users and user groups on technology topics, providing instruction, and evaluating, recommending, and installing technological solutions to new problems or situations.

Essential Duties

  • Designs, codes, implements, and enhances web applications.
  • Participates in a collaborative team environment to ensure the success of projects.
  • Maintains a high degree of technical knowledge and expertise.
  • Coordinates with other information technology organizations.
  • Develops and improves systems documentation.
  • Reviews existing systems and processes, and recommends alternative solutions when appropriate.
  • Establishes and maintains effective communications with customers, other technology specialists, and vendors about services.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Technology or related field AND two (2) years experience providing information technology services; OR, Six (6) years experience providing information technology services; OR, Any equivalent combination of experience and/or education from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved. Certificates from recognized programs that indicate mastery of tools and techniques relevant to the assignment may substitute for up to six months experience.


Desired Qualifications

Experience with the following:

  • Web application development with the following stack:
    • Java 8
    • HTML5/CSS3/JavaScript
    • SQL Server
    • Preferred: Vue.js/Node.js
  • Demonstrated knowledge of best practices in web application security.
  • Experience with building and querying database structures in an RDMS, preferably MS SQL Server.
  • Experience with git.
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of frontend responsive framework.
  • Evidence of effective  communications skills.

Working Environment

Activities are performed in an environmentally controlled office setting subject to extended periods of sitting, keyboarding, and manipulating a computer mouse; required to stand for varying lengths of time and walk moderate distances to perform work. Frequent bending, reaching, lifting, pushing and pulling up to 25 pounds Regular activities require ability to quickly change priorities which may include and/or are subject to resolution of conflicts. Ability to clearly communicate to perform essential functions.
