Position Summary

Provides high level system administration, analysis, design, evaluation, standardization, implementation and maintenance of client/server based network operating systems, services, servers and associated network server hardware and software.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Installs, configures and maintains hardware and software on servers to provide a stable and secure computing environment; and sets up, configures and maintains multiple servers and applications.
  • Maintains and monitors integrity of network operating system and security access to network servers; administers file based intrusion detection system to ensure data integrity; and integrates production systems with centralized monitoring tools.
  • Researches, installs and test software updates and patches to supported applications and various operating systems.
  • Uses system diagnostic and network operating system tools to troubleshoot system failures and network related problems; determines and resolves problem source; and coordinates support with hardware/software vendor as needed.
  • Designs, plans, coordinates and implements core-computing services for use in complex local and wide area networks; evaluates, designs, implements and maintains standardized server and workstation configurations; designs, manages, monitors and maintains VMware virtualization and SAN storage infrastructure; and recommends, designs, plans and implements projects that provide crucial services for the computing infrastructures.
  • Researches new technologies; presents recommendations on hardware/software purchases; and provides direction, technical advice and guidance.
  • Investigates, plans and tests new releases of server, virtualization and desktop operating systems, enterprise systems, patching and upgrades.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Management Information Systems (MIS) or related field and (3) three years of related experience.

OR

  • Associate's Degree in Management Information Systems (MIS) or related field and (5) five years of related experience.

OR

  • (10) ten years of related experience.
