General Description of Position:

Under the direction of the Finance System Administrator, this position is responsible for providing testing support for the financial systems of the Ivy Tech financial systems. The QA Analyst is a member of the Ivy Tech System Administration (ITSA) team in Ivy Tech’s Business Affairs department.

The ITSA team is responsible for managing a broad portfolio of Financial applications, integrations, and reports delivered primarily through the various financial system platforms.

Due to our growth, we are seeking a System Quality Assurance Analyst who will be responsible for defining, reviewing, and executing test cases. The QA Analyst will work closely with the system developers, functional users and business analysts to understand the technical design of the applications and ensure testability of the developed components. The ideal candidate should have an enthusiasm for team collaboration a passion for using technology to solve problems and fulfill business outcomes.

Major Responsibilities:

Test pre-release versions of financial system updates for ease of use, reliability, consistency, and product defects.

Support agile scrum teams in the configuration, development and execution of system and end-to-end testing for financial systems.

Create test plans and test cases, including requirements to unit, integration, and system tests.

Review user interfaces for conformity and functionality.

Execute test cases across all functional areas of the project.

Investigate incoming issues by reproducing reported issues and investigating bugs.

Find, isolate, document, and track bugs through to resolution.

Interpret and report testing results, and be a vocal proponent for quality in every phase of the development process.

Maintain a positive team environment with peers and management.

Identifies bottlenecks and drives improvements.

Functional and/or Technical Certifications as deemed appropriate for specialization.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) from an accredited college/university.

Excellent communication skills to include internal/external interaction, and documentation.

Familiarity with regression, load, unit, and system testing.

Experience working in SDLC, testing and validating solutions, and working as a Software QA Analyst.

Proven ability to self-manage and complete project deliverables.

Confident in making decisions, accurate, detailed-oriented and able to problem solve/analyze.

Good interpersonal, listening, written and verbal communication and basic project management skills.

Excellent documentation skills (samples of nonproprietary documentation maybe be asked for review).

Strong consideration will be given to candidates with a background and/or experience in computer science, finance, accounting, information technology, or business administration.
