UNCW Surplus Property unit is responsible for disposing equipment and supplies that have outlived their usefulness, are out dated, damaged and or broken in accordance with NC State Surplus rules and regulations. Surplus Property also assists departments who have a need for item(s) that have been sent to surplus that can be utilized by another department.

Brief Summary of Work for this Position
The Surplus Property Coordinator provides direction, management, and leadership to ensure UNCW surplus property is sold, stored, or disposed in accordance with federal, state and university regulations, goals and objectives. This position is responsible for all phases of the Surplus Property warehouse operations, to include collecting, receiving, storing, delivering, and disposing of wide variety of specialized supplies, equipment, and furniture. The Surplus Property Coordinator works in cooperation with UNCW fix asset team and is accountable for all supplies and equipment received by Surplus Property until final disposition. This position will supervise staff while performing collection, delivery and sales at retail location.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
High school diploma or equivalency and two years of supervisory experience in the area of assignment; or equivalent combination of training and experience.
Preferred education, professional skills and experience
  • 5 years of experience in a related field
  • Supervisory experience
Required Certifications or licensure
  • Valid North Carolina Driver License
  • Fork lift license
