Scope of Position
The Supply Chain Department is responsible for the order, receipt, storage, and distribution of Medical Center supplies, linens, and portable equipment throughout the Medical Center. The department has the responsibility for overseeing the operation of the Automated Guided Vehicle System, which moves all supplies, food, and trash within the Medical Center. The department is also responsible for maintaining Inventory Management Systems throughout the Medical Center. Supply Chain is responsible for triage and reprocessing of portable equipment. The department coordinates Specialty Bed placements and charge capture for beds and equipment. The department enforces lean materials management practices throughout the Medical Center.


Position Summary
Receives and unloads stock from trucks and totes into two bin Kanban racks. Monitors and maintains adequate supply inventory and maintain related records and documentation. Maintains prescribed inventory levels in the Patient Care areas and ancillary departments. Uses a handheld computer and other authorized inventory logs to count and assess departmental supply needs, perform data entry, create orders, perform warehouse cycle counts and rotate stock. Answers the warehouse/dock phones, enters departmental orders into the MMIS, retrieves/processes orders from the pneumatic tube system, organizes and labels supply carts. Maintains Inventory Management supply storage rooms and Nurse Servers in according to prescribed stock locations and prescribed supply quantities. Also is responsible for receiving, unpacking, verifying all shipments received, and entering receipt into Materials Management system. In addition, responsible for the logging, and accurately delivering packages to requesting departments (Nursing Units, Nursing Supply Rooms, Clinics, Ancillary departments, including BSD (Biological Science Division) at which point signatures are obtained from requesting department. Resolution of any issues related to the tasks assigned.

*Multiple Openings: Combined Shift Monday through Thursday 9:00 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.
Required Qualifications
High school graduate with at least 1 year of relevant work experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Inventory control experience in a hospital setting preferred.
