Posting Summary
Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking a Content Supervisor of Educational Services for the Institute for Families at the School of Social Work. This position reports to the Director of Human Services Initiatives.
Among the key duties of the position are the following:
  • Provides subject matter expertise and technical knowledge to support the development of learning products and educational materials for the human service and child support workforce.
  • Ensures that training sessions, curricula, reports, infographics, and other educational materials developed for the Institute’s are inclusive of current, family-centered, evidence-based, and culturally responsive practices.
  • Contributes to a team that includes instructional designers, subject matter experts, program partners, and stakeholders dedicated to high-quality content, learner-centered materials, and strong engagement of child support professionals in various roles.

Qualifications


Minimum Education and Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
  • Five (5) years of related experience in human service or education field or relevant professional experience.
Certifications/Licenses
  • A valid driver’s license would be required for this position; Use of personal vehicle in order to travel for business demands.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Strong knowledge in child support practices.
  • Experience in instructional design, curriculum development, instructional technology, communication, or a related educational field and supervisory experience.
  • Knowledge of adult learning principles and their applications as well as emerging instructional technologies.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and critical-thinking skills.
  • Ability to work with staff from diverse backgrounds and perspectives.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects at once.
  • Ability to communicate with diplomacy and tact and the ability to escalate issues in a timely fashion.
  • Ability to assist with the facilitation of focus groups and present instructional materials to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to effectively communicate technical information to a non-technical audience, and establish cooperative working relationships with staff, clients, and subject matter experts.
  • Ability to work within various learning management systems.
  • Strong child support expertise.
  • Knowledge of strong instructional design practices and adult learning principles.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge of requirements related to instructional technology for ADA compliance and familiarity with the boundaries of copyright and Fair Use guidelines.
Equipment Utilized
  • Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher and Outlook.
Physical Demands and Work Environment
  • General office environment including light lifting and document preparation.
  • Travel throughout New Jersey is required as needed.
