Job Summary

The Supervisor of Curriculum Services will provide day-to-day administrative leadership to promote academic excellence across the continuum of dental education through faculty and curriculum development, educational technology, instructional support, and educational evaluation for four academic departments that comprise the
School of Dentistry (SOD). The position is expected to partner with and support faculty in the delivering the curriculum. The primary responsibility of the Supervisor is to fully manage all functions of the office, including supervising a team of staff to assure that quality services are provided ranging from user interface support and training for new systems and assisting faculty in optimizing resources in the curriculum, to management of educational data for grading and tracking student progress. The Curriculum Services office serves as a shared resource for the academic departments in the School of Dentistry providing services and support for course management, assessments and evaluation, survey and testing services, and educational data management and reporting. The Supervisor reports to the Assistant Dean of Education.

The Supervisor will work collaboratively with admissions and student affairs directors to support the successful orientation and lifecycle of students across programs and levels. In addition, the Supervisor will collaborate with external partners, other campus departments and other dental schools to ensure that the School is presented at institution and broader education community

Directly oversees day-to-day operations for a health professions education program, including site-based processes, logistics and operations, local site coordinator assignments and communications with faculty and staff.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in related area and/ or equivalent experience/ training
  • Minimum 3+ years of related experience and 1+ years of supervisory experience
  • Working knowledge of relevant industry federal, state and local laws and regulations including national accrediting organizations and state and federal licensing and regulatory offices.
  • Proficient skills in training and guiding employees on site-specific administrative and
  • operational processes. Demonstrated ability to motivate and inspire staff to improve center services.
  • Proficient in ability to prioritize effectively to meet deadlines in a complex, challenging environment. Ability to organize assigned staff and unit operations in an efficient and effective
  • manner.
  • Effective communication skills with peers, learners, faculty, and other education program coordinators I managers.
  • Ability to solve problems and suggest solutions through critical thinking process.
  • Verbal and written communication skills to operational and learning concepts, actively listen, persuade, advise, and counsel.
  • Working knowledge of educational software and technologies to promote a wide-range of teaching and learning goals.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in related area
  • Ability to recruit faculty and integrate learners which requires high-level planning and
  • coordination skills.
  • Working knowledge of assigned program requirements and curriculum.
  • Working knowledge of department, organization, HR and university policies and processes.
