Position Summary:
Under the direct supervision coordinate operations and supervise staff assigned to the Echocardiography Lab. Oversee administrative, fiscal, and human resource management activities within assigned area. Provide direct patient care as required. Ensure adherence to Hospitals and departmental policies and procedures. Patient care assignment may include neonate, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric age groups.

Detailed responsibilities:
* SUPERVISION - Develop efficient organizational structure. Supervise employees and select, terminate, train, educate, correct deficiencies, perform appraisals, issue discipline, counsel, schedule work assignments; encourage staff teamwork and growth initiatives
* BUDGET - Develop and administer the division's annual budget; monitor and approve expenditures
* DEVELOPMENT - Enhance professional growth and development through participation in educational programs, reading current literature, attending in-services, meetings and workshops
* MONITOR - Review test results; perform quality assurance monitoring of test results; document patient care activities; provide patient billing information; assist in the initiation and maintenance of accreditation
* PATIENT CARE - Provide direct patient care services to inpatient and outpatient; participate in on-call services as required; assign and monitor shift responsibilities
* COORDINATION - Serve as liaison for assigned area; coordinate activities in collaboration with other staff professionals, division, departments, and organizations
* POLICY & PROCEDURE - Participate in the development and implementation of policies and procedures; identify and recommend areas of improvement; prepare and maintain a variety of reports; analyze and interpret reports as required
* PATIENT SAFETY 1 - Follow patient safety-related policies, procedures and protocols
* PATIENT SAFETY 2 - Demonstrate proactive approach to patient safety by seeking opportunities to improve patient safety through questioning of current policies and processes
* PATIENT SAFETY 3 - Identify and report/correct environmental conditions and/or situations that may put a patient at undue risk
* PATIENT SAFETY 4 - Report potential or actual patient safety concerns, medical errors and/or near misses in a timely manner
* PATIENT SAFETY 5 - Encourage patients to actively participate in their own care by asking questions and reporting treatment or situations that they don't understand or may "not seem right"

Experience:
Essential:
3 years directly related experience

Nonessential:
Bilingual English, Spanish, Keres, Tewa, Tiwa, Towa, Zuni, or Navajo 4 years directly related experience

Credentials:
Essential:
* CPR for Healthcare/BLS Prov or Prof Rescuers w/in 30 days
* ARDMS or CCI/RCS
* NM Med Imag & Rad Therapy Lic (NMMIRT)

Physical Conditions:
Medium Work: Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Physical Demand requirements are in excess of those for Light Work.

Working conditions:

* Med Haz: Mod exposure to chemicals/dangerous equip/materials
* May be required to travel to various work sites
* May perform subordinate tasks in high census/vol
* May be required or is required to perform on-call duties
* May work rotating shifts, holidays and weekends
