Summary

Reporting directly to the leader of the Business Operations team, the Supervisor of Business Operations’ primary purpose is to manage the day-to-day business operations of the Advancement and Alumni Affairs team. The Business Operations Supervisor will be responsible for performing and assisting with implementing financial and human resources activities and programs. This role supervises the business operations support level employees. Responsible for ensuring business outcomes set forth by department leadership are successfully and efficiently executed.  The ideal candidate will have experience in budgeting and financial oversight.

Job Duties
  • Manages the daily operation of the office and operations team.
  • Manages HR position management process across all teams.
  • Monitors ongoing business operational processes and manages efficiency.
  • Manages financial process, including reviewing and approving purchases in the punch-out system and Concur system.
  • Manages blocked invoice report/process.
  • Manages department expense tracking.
  • Manages department contract routing, renewal, and tracking process.
  • Oversees all department electronic inventory and assets reporting.
  • Runs SAP expense reports reviewing with leaders of Business Operations.
  • Supervises professional and/or operational and technical support level employees, including assigning tasks, checking work at frequent intervals, and maintaining schedules.
  • Ensures the ongoing review and development of process improvements to maximize business productivity.
  • Coaches business operations support team. 
  • Communicates with internal and external stakeholders on behalf of the department Executive leadership team.
  • Finds solutions for internal and external customers.
  • May assist with department and college-level special projects as assigned by leadership.
  • May provide administrative support as needed.

Minimum Qualifications
  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Four years of relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications and Skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field
  • Experience in budgeting and financial oversight
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
  • Strong leadership skills
  • High degree of organization and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work as a self-start and prioritize tasks and projects as needed
  • Takes the initiative and thinks strategically and creatively
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced team environment
  • Needs to be adept at developing solutions for workflow delays
  • Strong communications skills
  • Detail-oriented and able to multi-task
  • Promptly informs manager, and team members as appropriate, of developments affecting departmental work
