Position Highlights

The Department of German Studies is seeking a short-term summer session teaching position from May 13, 2024 through June 28, 2024 (Summer Session 7 week 1) to teach one online summer session course. This Summer Session Instructor position is part-time, non-tenure eligible, non-benefits eligible and will provide instruction in the area of the German beginning language (GER 101).

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Teach GER 101: Beginning German
  • Hold office hours
  • Plan class lectures and assignments
  • Grade papers and exams
  • Other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
  • Master's degree in German or related field
  • Experience teaching college-level courses
Preferred Qualifications
  • Demonstrated excellence in at least two years of college (online or face-to-face) teaching experience in German
  • Digital Learning Platform experience (Vista, Cengage, Pearson, etc.) Learning Management System Experience (D2L, Canvas, Blackboard, etc.)
  • Completion of a Quality Matters workshop (online program)
  • History of professional development activities for online teaching and/or course design
