ORGANIZATIONAL SUMMARY:

The University of South Florida Institute of Applied Engineering provides agile, best-value engineering solutions to enhance the performance, effectiveness of its sponsors, including the Department of Defense and other federal agencies, state and local governments, and industry. These engineering solutions include hardware-and-software-based research, advanced technology development, prototypes, and technical services.

 

POSTION SUMMARY:

This position will support IAE's research addressing issues involving transactional law, research integrity and compliance, intellectual property, export controls, corporate governance, academic affairs, and administrative law.

 

DUTIES:

Collaborate with IAE staff and attorneys in USF’s Office of the General Counsel to (i) draft, edit, and review contract documents; (ii) participate in negotiations with internal and external stakeholders; and (iii) research complex legal issues, including federal contracting, research integrity and compliance, intellectual property, and export control. Participate in team meetings as scheduled. The duties listed may either or both change and not be representative of all duties associated with the position..

 

QUALIFICATIONS (Education & Experience):

Minimum Qualifications:

· Performs administrative support and technical assignments associated with contract or grant funded sponsored projects requiring either a college diploma or experience of such kind and amount as to provide a comparable background. Higher education may substitute for the experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

· Pursuing a law degree at a local accredited law school.

· Current GPA of 3.0 or above.

· Experience with Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint).
