Work Schedule Summary | Position is expected to start 6/3/2024 and end 8/12/2024 Maximum of 400 hours (10 weeks), 40 hours per week. Some evening and weekend hours may be required. No work will be performed on the following University of Idaho observed holidays – Juneteenth (June 19), Independence Day (July 4). |

Job Duties/Responsibilities | • Assisting with ongoing summer projects, including health and wellness, food safety, and local food access-prioritized work. • Assisting with summer 4-H events. • Assisting the UI Extension Owyhee County Team/Office during the 2024 Owyhee County Fair (August 5-10). • Assisting the UI Extension Elmore County Team/Office with various ongoing tasks/projects. • Preparing an internship experience final report and submitting to the UI Extension Director at the conclusion of the internship. PROVIDED SUPPORT • Program supplies/equipment. • Positive learning experience with strong, engaged professional mentors. • Use of a computer. |

Position Qualifications
Required Qualifications | • Must have completed a minimum of 12 credits within the last year (these 12 credits may come from high school dual enrollment credits) and are currently enrolled at one of the following eight Idaho public universities or colleges (private Idaho universities or colleges do not qualify). Priority will be given to UI student applicants. University of Idaho Idaho State University Boise State University Lewis-Clark State College College of Southern Idaho College of Western Idaho College of Eastern Idaho North Idaho College • Must provide own transportation and have the ability to travel to multiple work sites. University will follow applicable policies if personal vehicle is used, which may include reimbursement at a pre-established rate. |

Preferred Qualifications | • Completed coursework in Family & Consumer Sciences, agriculture, Horticulture, Biology, Environmental Science, Food Systems or other relevant subject areas. • Outgoing and comfortable working with the public and volunteers (youth and adults). • Self-motivated and can work independently. • Enjoys working in a variety of settings and environments with diverse audiences. • Experience answering phones, responding to email and communicating through social media outlets. |
Physical Requirements & Working Conditions | • Must be able to lift, carry and/or otherwise move up to 25 lbs. • Must be willing to work in an office environment as well as varying field conditions. |
