Job Summary/Basic Functions
The EKU College of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics is accepting applications for a Student Laboratory Assistant in the Chemical Storage Facility for the Summer 2024 Session, May 13 through August 9, 2024, with option to renew, depending on shift availability and funding. Position pays $12/hour. Must be eligible for EKU Summer student employment.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following: tracking and documentation of chemicals checked out to faculty, preparation of some solutions for laboratories, log-in of chemical waste generated by science labs, and assist with laboratory inspections.
Minimum Qualifications
Education: Applicants need to have completed two semesters of first year college chemistry with at least a grade of “C” or better. Must be enrolled at EKU.
Licensure & Certifications: Must be eligible for EKU Summer student employment.
Sponsorship: Visa sponsorship will be considered on a case-by-case basis, depending upon the needs of the unit, available sponsorship budget, and the qualifications of the candidate.
