Posting Summary
Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking Summer Camp Nurse for Rutgers Rec Kids Summer Camp Program for the department of Student Affairs. The summer camp is a 7-week program that averages around 115 children a week, ranging from 5-11 years of age.
Among the key duties of the position are the following:
  • Oversees the health and safety of camper participants and staff.
  • Manages online database of camper’s health records.
  • Reviews and organizes health and immunization forms provided by camper families.
  • Treats injuries and illnesses at camp.
  • Acts as a liaison to camp parents, camp staff and health providers.
  • Stores, tracks and administers medication to camper participants and staff.
  • Maintains and tracks health records including, but not limited to; treatment logs, medication logs and incident reports.
  • Processes all medications and supplies related to all off-site trips.
  • Chaperones camp day trips as needed.
  • Be available to work a shift between 8am-5:30pm.
  • Assists with camper check-in and dismissal.
  • Assists with other camp administrative duties.

Qualifications


Minimum Education and Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience that demonstrates knowledge and understanding of medical and health care.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Up to 2 years + of relevant experience in a medical setting.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Requires good communication and interpersonal skills, and computer literacy.
