Job Summary
 

Provides support and assistance in the planning, coordination, and execution of various events and activities associated with Residential Camps and Intern Housing held during the summer months. Employees are not permitted to have non-staff visitors in their suite while minors are living in the building.


Responsibilities
 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Supports camps and conferences on all campuses and/or locations during the summer months, typically May through July
2. Responsible for the preparation and inspection (i.e., room condition report) of each unit and bedroom utilized prior to and after check-out occurs
3. Assists with the check-in and check-out processes of guests including but not limited to the assigning temporary access cards to the suites and utilizing designated software or process to check guests in and out
4. Be onsite and available for assigned camps to ensure access to rooms, login to computers and respond to various camp specific needs
5. Serves on the Resident Assistant duty rotation, with a preference of being of duty on the days and/or nights of confirmed conference and/or camp guests
6. Organizes the distribution of conferenced-related material and items upon guests¿ arrival such as, linens, toiletries, and department and University information
7. Responsible for the safety and risk management of assigned times and areas, initiates emergency protocols, reports all issues and concerns, refers to appropriate parties, and knowledge and adherence to risks to minors on campus policies
8. Directs staff and duties during camps and conferences including but not limited to, maintenance issues, room lock outs, legal reports, etc. (24/7)


Required Qualifications
 

Educational Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent
Other Required Qualifications
Must complete all required Kennesaw State Minors on Campus Training and scheduled department specific training
Required Experience
On the job training provided

Preferred Experience
Experience working in Housing and Residence Life and/or Residential Camps and Intern Housing

ABILITIES
Able to be on time and available for events
Sound judgement and highest ethical standard
Must attend all staff meetings, one-on-ones and training sessions, and complete required online training
A schedule of camps and conferences will be provided for the duration of the summer, the schedule is subject to change at any point as guests sign up to stay with us
Expected to adjust schedules and be as accessible as possible to support the assigned programs
Able to handle multiple tasks or projects at one time meeting assigned deadlines
SKILLS
Excellent interpersonal, initiative, teamwork, problem solving, independent judgment, organization, communication (verbal and written), time management, project management and presentation skills
Proficient with computer applications and programs associated with the position (i.e., Microsoft Office suite)
Strong attention to detail and follow up skills
Strong customer service skills and phone and e-mail etiquette
