Job Summary 
Serves as a temporary, full-time informal assistant for K-12 summer camp students. Assistant counselors help summer camp counselors be an integral part of the summer camp instructional planning and implementation process.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities  

  •   Responsible for the overall safety of all students within the group.
  •   Prepare necessary supplies and materials for each day’s activities. 
  • Cleaning and reorganizing materials and classrooms used by groups during the day.
  • Must have a knowledge of all weekly activities and assist in the execution of daily activities in the classroom and while on off-campus field trips.
  •   Performs other duties as assigned.

  • Minimum Qualifications  
    Must be at least 16 years of age. Completion of at least two year of high school and/or be considered a rising high school Junior.  

     


    Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
    • Adept in Microsoft Office
    • Capable of standing, squatting, bending, and lifting to 50 lbs. on a daily basis. 
    • Capable of withstanding extreme weather conditions.
    • Ability to work collaboratively as a member of a team.
    • Ability to anticipate needs. 
    • Ability to communicate and interact effectively with a diverse group of people. 

    Preferred Qualifications  
    Completed courses in Biology (and/or other related sciences). Past Sea Camp/Adventure Camp participation. Experience working with children preferred. CPR/AED/First Aid certification preferred.
