Job Summary

Under general direction, is responsible to identify, recruit, admit, and enroll academically qualified study abroad students from the Saint Louis University – St. Louis Campus for the Madrid Campus; keeps frequent contact with students, parents, SLU academic advisors, and government agencies if applicable; demonstrates understanding and sensitivity to the needs of all students; performs duties in accordance with the philosophy of the University.


Job Duties

  • Recruits visiting (study abroad) applicants from the St. Louis Campus for the Madrid Campus; hosts promotional programs for students interested in studying at the Madrid Campus; represents the campus at local, regional, and national promotional events and programs.

  • Establishes and maintains active communication with students, families, and other involved parties concerning admission, tuition and billing, and the student visa application process; prepares and presents pre-departure orientations.

  • Assists students in the visa process, which may require working with the Chicago Spanish consulate; upholds accordance with federal regulations.

  • Processes the applications of visiting students including reading, interpreting, and evaluating students’ academic credentials and makes admission/denial decisions; evaluates student conduct for admission purposes.

  • Serves as a liaison between Saint Louis University’s Madrid and St. Louis Campuses; performs other duties as assigned.


Qualifications and Education Requirements

Bachelor’s degree; supplemented with one (1) year of relevant international education experience. Must be able to travel and handle working with university-aged students in a busy, multi-tasking environment. Study at the Madrid Campus or in Spain highly preferred. Spanish language proficiency preferred

Compensation

Salary Range: $40,000 - $48,000


  • Commensurate with direct/ relevant experience.
