Study Abroad Assistant

We are currently seeking a full-time, on-site, Study Abroad Specialist in our Office of Academic Affairs’ Study Abroad Office. This position provides administrative assistance and supports the daily operations of the Study Abroad Office. The hourly pay range for this position begins at $14.96/hr.

 

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Perform initial student intake and administrative duties.
  • Administer, monitor, facilitate, and reconcile financial/budgetary affairs, program invoices, fees, annual dues, purchase orders, and journal vouchers.
  • Manage, input, and maintain confidential files and records.
  • Communicate with stakeholders about office policies and procedures.
  • Create and prepare correspondence, reports, oversee scheduling and manage files.
  • Recruit, train, and supervise student workers.
  • Communicate and follow-up with stakeholders and students regarding program required documents, forms, and policies for participation.
  • Manage office outreach activities, including social media site(s).
  • Coordinate special projects for the Director and assist with meetings and office events.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

 

Required Qualifications:

  • A High School diploma or GED.
  • At least 2 years of office experience in addition to participating in a Study Abroad program.
  • Ability to work with diverse constituents including students, advisors, faculty, program providers, and overseas colleagues.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. 
  • A commitment to the philosophy of international education.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and strong organizational and verbal/written skills.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Office experience, database experience, Student Information Systems (SIS) experience.
