Student - WSB Writing Lab Tutor

Utah Valley University is seeking tutors to help business students in their writing on specific assignments from upper-level classes. Applicant does not need to have taken upper-level classes. 

Duties include but are not limited to:

• Participating in tutor-training sessions and activities to improve tutoring skills and review knowledge of effective writing
• Evaluating quality of written assignments.
• Maintaining a professional demeanor and confidentiality while working with a variety of students. 

• Must be a current UVU student.
• Must currently have an “A” or “A-” grade in MKTG 220G and recommendation from MKTG 220G instructor.

Preferred Qualifications

• A WSB student.

• Knowledge of requirements of effective written presentations in business including organization and presentation of content, language usage, and writing mechanics.
• Training on specific student assignments will be provided.
• Reliability; strong writing skills; time and task-management skills.
• Ability to collaborate with students and enhance their knowledge of writing.
• Ability to communicate ideas and concepts in a clear, concise, and friendly manner.
• Ability to commit to working at this position for nine months.
