Description

This position is a great opportunity for UCLA students interested in issues of importance in the disability community and communications. The UCLA Tarjan Center, a University Center for Excellence in Developmental Disabilities has projects that address a wide variety of issues for individuals with disabilities in postsecondary education, employment, the arts, health, and wellness. The student would assist both the Director of Operations and the Tarjan Administrator with administrative duties such as updating CV’s, Tarjan calendar, website updating, collecting mail, meeting notes, and other duties as needed. Must be a current UCLA Student. Pay Range: $16.25 – $19.25 hourly

Qualifications

Must be a current UCLA Student Able to work independently and pay attention to detail Ability to write clearly, concisely, and grammatically correct notes and memos Basic ability to operate photocopier, telephone systems and other general office equipment. Flexibility to move from one task to another based on interruptions and changing priorities. Skilled in working in Microsoft Office Suite, excellent writing and editing skills. Highly organized and reliable Ability to prioritize work Communication skills to speak clearly and distinctly Ability to work in a fast-paced environment Maintain positive working relationships with staff and faculty. Skilled in video editing, social media platforms, and creating appealing visual products. Student will be trained in how to make documents and other products accessible and use of appropriate language when communicating about disability issues. Disability Minor and Communications Majors encouraged but we are open to all majors depending on skills and experience.
