Job Summary
The James B. Beam Institute for Kentucky Spirits is seeking students to support research, operations and production in the institute. Duration: Mid-May to early August.
The work can include:
  • Developing a production plan and ensure timely delivery of supplies
  • Planning and implementation of institute tours for groups from industry, stakeholders and academia
  • Support production (fermentation, distillation, barreling)
  • Contributing to a positive safety culture in distilling operations
  • Documentation of production
  • Benchtop fermentation and distillation in the lab and analytical work on spirits
  • Support of office functions
Skills / Knowledge / Abilities
The successful candidates will be required to pass a series of UK safety trainings that will be provided to them

Preferred Education/Experience
Enrolled in Distillation, Wine and Brewing Certificate at UK or successful coursework in Distillation, Wine and Brewing Science.
Enrolled in the following majors:
STEM Majors
Business Majors
Agriculture, Food and Environment majors
