Position Announcement

Utah Valley University is looking for a cheerful and energetic person who enjoys health and wellness to join our team!


Summary of Responsibilities

  • Performs behavior change counseling for the university population.
  • Presents on nutrition, fitness, and wellness-related topics.
  • Administers health risk appraisal testing such as blood pressure, body composition, flexibility, glucose, grip test, etc.
  • Administers health screenings. Performs program planning and implementation.
  • Creates promotional documents, newspaper advertisements, and brochures.
  • Develops and implements new health and wellness presentations.
  • Coordinates Wellness Workshops.
  • 10 hours per week, Mon/Wed 9 a.m. – 2 p.m. or 10 a.m. – 3 p.m. or Tues/Thurs 9 a.m. – 2 p.m. or 10 a.m. – 3 p.m.


Minimum Qualifications

Completion of two years of academic training at an accredited institution in an undergraduate program directly related to the summary of duties; relevant coursework to be determined by the hiring department. 


Knowledge, Skill, and Abilities


Knowledge:

  • Knowledge of behavior change counseling.
  • Knowledge of nutrition, fitness, and wellness-related topics.
  • Knowledge of program planning and implementation

Skills:
  • Skills in interpersonal communications.
  • Skills in developing and implementing new health and wellness presentations.
  • Skills in a public presentation.
Abilities:
  • Ability to administer health screenings.
  • Ability to coordinate wellness workshops.
  • Ability to work in a professional manner.
  • Ability to work one-on-one with clients.
  • Ability to work effectively with others on program planning.
