Teach swim lessons for children and adults. Enforce all policies and regulations and participate in regular in-service training. Preferred candidates have the availability to begin work in May 2024.

Job Requirements

Required Education: Must be enrolled in a combination of two terms as a student at the University of Oklahoma. Hiring contingent upon verification of current student status.


  • Must attach Spring, Summer and/or Fall 2024 ONE class schedule.

Skills:



  • Must be able to swim 50 yards each of the following strokes: front crawl, back crawl, breast stroke, side stroke, elementary backstroke, and butterfly 
  • Must be comfortable teaching and responding to questions regarding the American Red Cross Learn to Swim Program

  • Must be able to respond in an emergency at any time

Certifications:


  •   Current American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor Certification

Advertised Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to swim
  • Must be able to lift no less than 30 pounds
  • Must be able to demonstrate and teach each of the following swim strokes: front crawl, back crawl, breast stroke, side stroke, elementary backstroke, and butterfly
