· Minimum 1-2 years experience in tax/accounting/finance
· Experience with financial reporting requirements
· QuickBooks experience
· Lacerte tax software experience very helpful

Job Summary
WR Ramsey & Associates is hiring an experienced, part-time tax preparer to join our team. If you seek a flexible job with a wonderful team of professionals, we would love for you to join our outstanding team!
Responsibilities:
· Consults with clients and senior tax preparers to develop understanding of client financial affairs and the scope of tax liabilities.
· Reviews previous tax returns and financial documents to identify missing or incomplete information or documentation.
· Reviews all supplied financial information for accuracy.
· Utilizes organizational accounting software/systems to prepare tax returns.
· Calculates taxes owed or refunds due to client; consults tax law publications for guidance on unusual situations.
· Files tax returns for clients.
· Maintains understanding and knowledge of changes and updates in tax law by consulting with onsite senior tax advisors, related webinars, tax seminars/training, etc.
Expected number of hours per week is approximately 20 – maybe a little more or maybe a little less (tax season only, but could lead to full-time, year round work)
Skills / Knowledge / Abilities
  • Must maintain extreme confidentiality with all information and all aspects of the position
  • Knowledge of state and federal tax form processes and how to accurately and properly prepare forms for each
  • Ability to prioritize daily tasks and meet time deadlines with clients
  • Knowledge of accounting processes and advanced mathematical skills
  • Skilled using tax preparation software and experience in troubleshooting common tax program problems
  • Registration with the IRS with a valid PTIN
  • Strong oral and communication skills
  • Must be a team player with flexible hours during tax season
