SHRS - Student Affairs is actively recruiting a Student Support Coach. The Student Support Coach will establish one on one relationships with students to support academic success and facilitate an environment that encourages a sense of belonging. They will collaborate with enrollment teams to facilitate a seamless transition from admitted to current student. Coaches will function as a member of the student affairs team as well as closely collaborate with departmental and program teams. They will participate in regularly scheduled meetings as needed with student affairs, the center for academic advising and student success, other support coaches and faculty and staff in assigned programs. They will monitor academic progress and communicate issues with program faculty and advisors as needed. Coaches must develop in depth knowledge of campus resources, help problem solve and recognize when to make additional referrals as needed. Coaches will assist in orientation and conduct pre-matriculation workshops focused on student success and optimal learning. They will develop and deliver social engagement and academic success workshops and activities, and partner with marketing and communications to promote services and programming. They will utilize university student information systems to document and manage student information and create and administer assessments and other measures to evaluate results of efforts and prepare reports as directed.



Job Summary

Provides individual and group coaching, assessment, and evaluation to support academic success, a positive student experience and satisfaction to ensure retention. Creates and maintains a network of contacts within and external to the University to facilitate student success opportunities. Promotes and conducts success initiatives and engagement opportunities.


Essential Functions 

Establish individual relationships with students enrolled in online and hybrid programs to support academic success and retention. Develop and deliver social engagement and academic success workshops and activities. Participate in regularly scheduled meetings with enrollment specialists, student affairs teams, other support coaches and faculty and staff in assigned programs. Participate in orientation and conduct pre-matriculation workshops. Monitor academic progress and communicate issues. Document information and create and administer assessments and other measures to evaluate results of efforts. Complete other duties as assigned.


Physical Effort 

The incumbent must be able to carry out job responsibilities with reasonable accommodations. Must be able to lift or carry 25 pounds or less.
