•    Required hours include weekends, nights, and holidays
•    Required on-call rotation 
•    Required to live-in assigned hall for the duration of the conference season
•    This position is considered a full-time commitment  
•    No additional employment is permitted

Job Description
The primary role of the Staffing Assistant position is to schedule and supervise all Community Assistants within their program team. The goal of this position is to give students valuable real-world experience in a leadership environment. The Staffing Assistant position should work 5-10 hours per week during the academic year and 30-40 hours per week during the summer. Those hours may be worked in any combination, at the discretion of the Assistant Director of Residential Services as the direct supervisor to this position. The Staffing Assistant must be reliable, organized, responsible, and flexible. They must also be ambitious, detail-oriented, creative, and driven. 

The ideal candidate will be knowledgeable in University Residences Summer Residential and Dining processes, along with supervisory experience.

Prerequisite(s)
Previous experience as a Community Assistant for University Residences or equivalent is preferred, but not required.

Qualifications
•    High school diploma or equivalent and a minimum of one semester of college coursework completed
•    Must be actively enrolled at Purdue University, Purdue University Global, or a local accredited college
•    Previous work experience within University Residences preferred
•    Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written
•    Flexible and dependable with strong attention to detail
•    Problem solving, logic, and reasoning skills
•    Customer service oriented
•    Ability to multi-task and work within deadlines
•    Ability to work independently and with a team
•    Be timely and organized
•    Previous experience as a Community Assistant for University Residences or equivalent preferred
•    Strong computer skills
•    Previous supervisory experience preferred


Position Responsibilities

Position Responsibilities
•    Responsible for performance management and progressive discipline of Community Assistant 
•    Facilitate regular staff meetings with Community Assistant communicating all relevant information
•    Use of rooming management system for all conference-related activity including but not limited to: 
o        Print key labels, participant name door decorations, rosters
o        Update participant check-in/check-out dates 
o        Update participant status (i.e. – No Show)
o        Program conference cards
•    Participate in and facilitate the summer employee program training
•    Prepare, post, and maintain student office schedules as directed by supervisor, providing coverage at multiple hall main offices working scheduled hours that will include evening, overnights, weekends, and holidays
•    Schedule Community Assistant duty hours and provide schedule weekly to ADRS and office clerk
•    Enforce all established office procedures
•    Complete and submit maintenance requests online
•    Oversee and coordinate conference material preparation and proper distribution
o        Ensure collection of adult guideline signature pages and pertinent staff information 
•    Attend/Facilitate and assist with all check-ins/check-outs; ensure check-in area is set up one hour prior
•    Handle room key distribution and collection; reconcile/audit keys after every conference departure, report any issues to the conference team 
•    Distribute pertinent information to program attendees and summer residents regarding upcoming events (i.e. bulletins, programs, and messages)
•    Meet regularly with program team leadership
•    Fulfill on-call responsibilities as part of a scheduled rotation
•    Be accessible in person or by phone to address questions or emergencies, including after-hours support and complete incident reports or other appropriate documents as needed
•    Maintain confidentiality and exhibit professional conduct when handling sensitive, personal information
•    Report policy violations and/or University Residences regulation violations
•    Exemplify promptness, initiative, adaptability, high ethical standards, professional appearance, and demeanor as part of the conference team
•    Exercise accountability for the proper handling and security of all issued keys, safe access, as well as hall property, i.e. hall equipment
•    Other duties as assigned
